Lovely cottage with wonderful views

We received a very warm welcome and Ben Ohau was just a wonderful place to be. We spent New Year's Eve there and enjoyed the silence, the view from the porch onto a beautiful landscape and a great first sunrise in 2017. The cottage is comfortable for a party of two - especially a couple (but there are two additional beds in an extra room). Twizel offered us everything we needed (food stores and excellent restaurants) and the location was perfect to start our day trip to Mount Cook and Lake Tekapo. Unfortunately we only had one night out there. Next time we will definitely stay longer.

A wonderful retreat

This cottage was just perfect. The view was stunning and the cottage itself was like being at home. Everything we could have needed and wanted with fabulous walks and bike rides on the back door step while still feeling that you were isolated from town which is just right there! Thank you to Priscilla who was such a lovely hostess.

Gill Robertson (Ben Ohau Station farm cottage)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage which is well appointed and extremely comfortable, and only 5 minutes from Twizel. The setting is unique and the views are stunning.

Very enjoyable stay in spite of the weekend weather. Small but cosy and extremely well equipped with everything we wanted. Great views and although out of town it was only 5 mins or so very handy to all services. Perhaps the TV could have been slightly larger for those of advancing years and we found the duvet very hot so perhaps some thought could be given to a lighter duvet or blankets for this time of the year. However this did not detract from a very enjoyable stay.

A little touch of country paradise

This stay was one of he highlights of our entire trip. The location is remarkable, nestled within High country and overlooking the wonderful farm. The snow capped mountains are visible from the porch even in the Summer, and the stars are incredible at night. Despite this secluded and tranquil location, you're only 5-10 mins from some great cafes and restaurants in twizel. The facilities are new and in great condition. The space is small but perfect for two people. The only downfall is that it can get a little stuffy. All the windows open up but sometime there is very little airflow. Easily accessible, fantastic internet connection, ample parking space and all amenities you could need. Amy was very knowledgable about the area and answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent stay with stunning views

Really enjoyed our stay here. Absolutely jaw dropping setting, I could have watched the landscape change for hours. Priscella the owner of the cottage was very welcoming and told us a bit of the history of the sheep station and very kindly gave us fresh farm eggs for breakfast (delicious!). An easy drive to Twizel town centre but you really are at a country retreat. The cottage was very comfortable for a couple, we both slept very well in the bed. Living room is compact but has everything you need. Would definitely recommend, only wish we could have stayed longer.

Amazing 3 Day Stay

The cottage is gorgeous, set up on the side of a hill and overlooking beautiful fields and mountains. It was toasty warm despite the cold and provides the perfect couples escape. The kitchen has all you need to cook at home, or there are a number of restaurants in town. Ben Ohau is so close to other beautiful areas like Mount Cook and Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki - you'll struggle to take a bad photo in this region! And don't forget to look up at night - the Milky Way is incredible from there! Priscilla and Amy were both so warm and hospitable, it truly capped off an amazing 3 day stay.
