23. Galaxy Views · Pedalfish Cottages: Galaxy Views FREE WIFI

We had a great time here using this as a base for day trips to Mt Cook, Lake Ohau, Otematata... Positive: This is a very well-equipped, self-contained property. We were fortunate that there was no-one in the adjoining unit, so it was peaceful and very quiet for the whole week we were there. It's only a short trip into Twizel (restaurants, grocery stores etc) yet feels wonderfully 'away from it all'. The manager was VERY prompt and attentive. A huge storm blew through the South Island of NZ during our stay and our power went out (along with thousands of others). We received helpful responses within minutes of any messages we sent through during our stay and were very impressed by that level of support. It was a great base from which to explore this part of the South Island. Negative: There is very little to fault this property and how well equipped it is. It was unfortunate that we picked a super windy week to stay there so we couldn't sit outside and enjoy the views as the wind was terrible. The only things I'd add to the property would be a pair of oven mitts (I used a folded up tea towel, but that's not very safe) and a kitchen sponge with a scouring pad on one side (to properly clean pots and pans that wouldn't go into the dishwasher). We bought the latter so we could leave the dishes clean for others. It was disappointing to see that some previous tenants had put wine glasses away that were grubby, so we put all of them through the dishwasher to ensure they were cleaned properly. They also hadn't cleaned the lint out of the clothes dryer, or the water out of its condenser unit. Some people are very thoughtless!

Simply stunning, the location is amazing, only 5 minutes from Twizel, the the property is just beautiful, lovely log fire for the 3 chilly nights we stayed, lovely kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. I would highly recommend this place, our stay was 10/10 👍

just wow, peaceful, serene, quiet with everything you could want. Wonderful bed and the window above the bed is magical. Absolutely recommended !!!

Great relaxing stay after a days fishing, didn't catch one though! Positive: Cottage is in a remotish area, think they're 2 acre plus blocks on shinge roads - you have neighbours you can see in the distance, but you are really close to Twizel and the canals for fishing. Lovely clean, comfy cottage, all new amenities. Sure it is someone's home as there is heaps of normal crockery and kitchenware you'd have at home, and food in the pantry and fridge. Didn't use any as we took our own. Small tv with a few channels, good wifi and mobile phone reception. Wonderful comfy bed and pillows. Great water pressure in shower. Only annoying thing was the whistling of the chimney with the howling nor'wester wind.
